The 300-foot bridge in the mid-section of the Canyon Rim Trail was installed on June 19, 2010. The bridge--more like a catwalk-- spans a drainage where County-owned land pinches against New Mexico Highway 502. Installation required a 100-foot crane and some traffic control along the highway and at the Los Alamos Airport.
The bridge is closed until the decking is completed and the trail to the bridge is completed. The Parks Division is looking at a trail opening on July 31.
