Narrative: The Kwage Mesa Trail offers outstanding views of the Pajarito Plateau and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The trail heads east from the trailhead and stays to the south side of the mesa, winding through juniper-dotted grasslands. About 1.5 miles from the start, the trail meets a utility road and continues to a viewpoint at the end of the mesa.
