Canyon Rim Trail Bridge Trolls and Other Updates

Bridge Trolls: If you hear strange noises as you approach the Canyon Rim Trail bridge, it's not trolls, just me. Since the bridge was installed last July, the wood planks on the deck have shrunk and loosened. I am slowly making progress on tightening the 1800 bolts from below. As you cross the bridge, you can check on my progress: the loose planks are noisy, the secure ones are silent when you walk/ride over them.

Elsewhere on the trails: As of this past weekend, all of the downed trees have been cleared off of Mitchell Trail (both South and North), the entire Guaje Ridge Trail, and Guaje Canyon Trail from the Mitchell Trail to the base of Caballo. Arizona valerian has joined the pasque flower in adding color to the woods.

  1. Wish I could help you out, but had to go back to work the other day and won't be around for a while. Guess I couldn't just sit around and be a house-husband forever. Such is life... Alex
