Narrative: The Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail was completed in 2010. The trail follows the south rim of Pueblo Canyon from Acid Canyon to the tip of Los Alamos Mesa east of the airport. The western portion was constructed by an anonymous trail builder; the eastern portion was improved by the 2010 Youth Conservation Corps sponsored by the Los Alamos Family YMCA. The western end is located at an unsigned junction on the Ranch School Trail just before that trail switchbacks into Acid Canyon. The western section sometimes clings to the cliff and caution is advised. This portion connects at Graduation Canyon with the Graduation Canyon Trail, which connects with the paved Los Alamos Mesa Trail. Following that trail east, trail users can pick up the eastern segment of the Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail just west of the airport. From here the trail skirts the canyon rim, offering spectacular views. The trail passes below the Pajarito Cliffs site (a side trail leads to the Holiday Inn Express and the Los Alamos Cooperative Market), then connects with the Camp Hamilton Trail.
